High-quality, well-balanced frames are strongly constructed with hardwood handles. Blades are firmly held by serrated lugs. The frames are adjustable to accommodate broken blades. YouÆll get an accurate cut with our German-made saws.

The inch dimension (2.25, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8,) refers to the throat depth of the saw and can be associated with the maximum depth that you can cut into a piece in any direction. Thus, a 3 inch saw frame could in theory cut through something that was 6 inches in width (cut in 3 inches from one side, turn the piece around and cut 3 inches in from the other side). When sawing we typically recommend that you have a little extra room to allow for easier maneuverability - if you know you will be cutting through 6 inches of material we would recommend you purchase a 4 inch frame to make your task easier.

Due to the tiny nature of jewelers saw blades they are easy to break. A few tips may assist your quest to break fewer blades. First, make sure the saw blade is tight in the saw frame. Second, be sure to use a lubricant such as cut lube or beeswax to prime the blade (reduces friction and heat making the cutting action easier and less likely to stress the blade). Third, make sure that you are seated at the proper height for sawing. Fourth, make sure you are completely relaxed - any tension from your shoulder, upper arm, forearm and wrist will be transferred into the saw frame increasing the potential to break saw blades. Fifth, try to use long and even strokes. This helps with even wear on the blade and can reduce the possibility of breaking blades as quickly.

Remember, like any technique sawing takes time to learn and become comfortable with. It is natural to break blades especially while you are learning, so don't get too frustrated if you break several blades.
